Stencil Project

The stencil project for me was a very fun and interesting project.  I feel that I was fully able to achieve the desired effect even though there were some minor errors.  Throughout the entireity of this project I was constantly learning something new.  I learned how to create stencils, cut stencils, and finally paint with stencils.  The process of this project was a very long and grueling one but it was very rewarding.  There were several steps in creating this piece which began with actually obtaining a photo.  I personally forgot about the need for a photo so I quickly took this one prior to class beginning.  The next step was to convert the photo into a three color stencil using Photoshop which was very easy.  We then had to blow the photo up using the projector and trace the individual colors onto poster board.  After this was the most time consuming step which is to cut out the stencils.  Lastly I lined up the stencils on the cardboard and spray painted them.  As you can see there are some gaps where the stencils did not line up correctly but I feel the overall I came out with a reasonably decent product. For me this project was very successful because I was fully able to capture the Photoshop stencil into the spray painted final product.
